Nexus S Problems!

The brand new Nexus S phone from Samsung and Google looks like a very cool, advanced phone! But there have been a few reports of some issues with the phone. Not speaking towards the hardware that is provided by Samsung but the software from Google. More particularly Android 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Some of the problems with the phone is when you open your applications drawer, it takes a few flicks of the finger to get the grid moving. A few glitches with other applications. Some people reported the phone actually crashing from some applications, not sure which ones, but I am looking into that currently.

The phone looks like an amazing piece of hardware, but from the reports of buggy hardware, maybe it should of waited for 3.0?

Samsung’s new Galaxy S Tab’s will be releasing for all four major carriers.
Looks like Verizon will be the first one to release their’s on November 11th! Now get ready for the price because it is a shocker here! The Samsung Galaxy Tab will be selling for 599 dollars. Only 30 dollars less than the iPad! Now to run this thing you need to have a 20 dollar per month plan of 1GB of data. Which again can be better.
But much much more on the Galaxy S Tab on Gadget Experts! Stay tuned!

Apple’s New MacBook Air

Today was an exiting day to be Apple!
They had their “back to the Mac” event today with a few big announcements. Of course everyone knew what will be coming from Apple but it’s always nice to have some confirmation from Apple.
Announced today was:
iLife ’11
FaceTime for Mac
Mac OS X Lion
An now it’s time for Steve’s famous

one more thing…………

The question he started with was:
What happens if you take an iPad and you put it together with a MacBook?
You get the brand new MacBook Air!
The new MacBook Air looks super sweet guys!

They took out the Hard Drive and replaced it with Flash Memory! Then they filled it up with batteries!
They have two models of this MacBook Air:
13 inch model and the 11 inch model. The 11 inch model starts at 999.99 which is a really nice price point for Apple.
Th new MacBook Air is unibody, has the same great multi-touch track pad, also it has a high pixel density display.
They all have have Intel’s core 2 duo chip with 2gb of ram. And the flash memory goes as followed:
64gb
128gb
And 256gb.
Much much more on the MacBook Air right here on Gadget Experts!

Samsung Transform Unboxing and Hands On

At CTIA, Samsung and Sprint came out with the Samsung Transform! It is one of the three Sprint ID phones. The two other are Sanyo Zio, and the LG Optimus S. The Samsung Transform is the higher spec’d and a higher price tag phone.

It is $149.99 on two year contract, and it is available on October 10th.

So far it looks like the little brother of the Epic 4G.  Looks exactly the same except for the size of the screen.

First Impressions:

The phone feels very nice, a little cheap but still feels good in the hand. The screen is half VGA and it is also LCD so you are not getting the great screen found on the Epic 4G. Also the keyboards feels almost exactly the same as the one found on the Epic. Only difference is the Epic has a five row keyboard, and the Transform has four.

The phone feels a little laggy, maybe because the 800 MHZ isn’t up to par with the other smartphones, but this is a low to mid level range of smartphones. So it is OK for the price tag.

Much much more on this phone and more coverage from CTIA!

Verizon Lights Up 4G LTE by End of 2010!

Ladies and Gentlemen! Verizon had a CTIA Conference on Wednesday, and I attending (virtually). The main topic was lighting up Verizon’s 4G LTE service nationwide.

And drum roll please……………………………………………….

They are going to light up 38 cities, and 62 airports within 2010, and by 2013, 285 million americans will have 4G LTE service available!

Speeds of LTE will be 5-12 megabits down, and 2-5 megabits up.

I can’t wait to get my hands on a device with 4G ready! Maybe iPhone!

Let’s see and watch what will happen!

Samsung Fascinate Unboxing!

Behold, the Samsung Fascinate. I am not sure if I am excited about the phone, or the fact that this is the last Galaxy S phone that was over hyped like the rest? Probably the phone since I am pretty much a phone geek!

So this is the Fascinate, the Galaxy S variant on Verizon, and there awesome network! It has the same features as all the other Galaxy S phones, but no keyboard or front facing camera like the Epic 4G. It also has a flash like the Epic, but the other Galaxy S phones just have a camera with no flash.

Other than that it is the same hardware:

1 GHZ HummingBird processor, 800X480 Resolution of the Super AMOLED display.

Much much more on this phone! Stay tuned folks!

iPod Touch 4G (2010) Unboxing

So I have been waiting for this product from Wednesday September 1, and man oh man! I stopped at the Apple store on Wednesday (the first day it was released) and they had one more in stock! I picked it up, sped home (with no ticket) going 60 and 30′s and what not.

Flung out the camera gear, and began shooting the unboxing!

First impressions: Is that a toothpick? A 229 dollar tooth pick that can do FaceTime, and play my favorite tunes? I believe so! This thing is super thin! Razor thin is a good way to explain it.

The iPod Touch, is the iPhone without the phone. (As Apple stated)

It has FaceTime, A4 Processor, Back Camera with HD Video recording, front facing camera, iOS 4.1, and much more! Pretty much the same as the iPhone 4! Same processor as in the iPad and iPhone 4!

So I will have much much more on this amazing device. And see if it is really the iPhone 4, without the phone!

Samsung Epic 4G Full Review

The Samsung Epic 4G, the second 4G phone in America is nothing short of an amazing device. It has a wonderful 4 inch Super AMOLED display that is just vibrant and very spot on on color reproduction! It is packed with Samsung’s 1GHZ HummingBird Processor which is an extremely fast processor for a phone. It is up there with Apple’s A4 chip. The Epic 4G is very different from all the other Galaxy S phones on the market. It has a full QWERTY board which is a dream to type on. It also packs a front facing camera for video calling via Qik which is pre-installed on your Epic. The 5 megapixel camera is also packed with a LED flash that also acts as a video light for your 1280×720 video recording.
Currently on the US market the best mobile phone video capture is the iPhone 4. But the video quality on the Epic is very good for a mobile phone.
The speed of this phone is blazing fast.

The Epic 4G is definitely a phone that you can’t miss. Go to your local Sprint store and play around with it a bit and see if you like it.
It has a big price tag at 250 dollars on contract! But I think its worth it. Remember you are subscribing to 1600 dollars of service for the 2 year plan there.
But all in all this phone is very well rounded an is jam packed with a lot of neat features that are not on any other Galaxy S phone in America!
It’s me Marco from Gadget Experts and I will see you guys next time.
